Brief
The project involved sourcing a new branch surgery in a quite tightly drawn search area. Our role involved taking a brief finding and procuring a new site, designing and delivering the construction.
The site when first identified was a Budgens store, which was demolished and replaced with 3 retail units
Our role involved preparing site availability reports and site acquisition. Negotiating the terms of an agreement to lease and lease for a retail unit next to a leading petfood store and Sainsbury’s local store to be built. Getting planning consent for change of use and developing the 2-storey facility to comply with all the statutory requirements including energy tests, building control within challenging budget and programme limits.
Key Features
The design incorporated a double height waiting area and purpose designed and stylish reception desk with feature lighting.
Leading to consult rooms, dispensary and lab leading to a clinical suite operating theatres radiology and dental facilities.
Accessed from a central prep area hub visually accessable to the cat and dog wards and theatres through internal windows. All areas are linked with cat 5 cabling for telephones and computers linked back to the patch panel and server in the offices. The internal finishes incorporated leading durable materials.
Result
The new branch has been busy almost since the opening. The key attractions to clients are the ease of parking and visibility to the main road. A lot of positive feedback from the owners, clients and staff
